Which days are haidh and which are istihaadah?

07 Dec 2021 Ref-No#: 4124

Asalamualaikum, I am confused about when I have haidh and when I have istihaadah, jazakumullahukhairan for helping

1. I have a habit of randomly spot bleeding, which is bleeding a tiny bit at random parts of the month. Will it be counted as haidh if it always happens?

2. If spotting happens during fajr time then stops at Zuhr time do I need to start praying at ASR time? If not, then when? What if I feel like the spotting will continue?

3. If I had spotted bleeding for 7 days, then lots of blood started flowing for another 7 days after that, will the second seven days be considered haidh because it seems like it was haidh due to the heavier flow of blood?

5. If I spot bleed after 15 days from the last time I spot bleed, will it be regarded as haidh if it continues for 3 days? I also read somewhere that a person who bleeds constantly should differentiate between their haidh and istihaadah by counting the heavier flow as haidh and the lighter flow as istihaadah. If I have been having spotted bleeding, but it becomes a tiny bit heavier during a few days, will these be regarded as my haidh instead, or should I just follow the 15 days rule, that is the bleeding after 15 days of the last haidh will be counted as haidh instead of looking at the flow?

Sorry for the long question, your help is really appreciated.

Answer

Assalāmuʿalaykum Wa Raḥmatullāhi Wa Barakātuh

We require background information regarding the last three months in terms of the dates and number of days which you have bled/spotted, as well as the number of days in which no bleeding/spotting had occurred.

This is required in order to assist us with determining your monthly cycle which in turn will assist us in answering your questions.
