Surah at-tawbah verse no.113 and 114
Can you please explain the meaning of ayah no.113 and 114 in Surah at-tawbah ?Can I pray for the forgiveness of disbeliever ?Please pray for the guidance of that person for whom I am praying for guidance and for my persistence in making dua for him.

Assalāmuʿalaykum Wa Raḥmatullāhi Wa Barakātuh
The exegetes of the noble Qur’ān have mentioned the following in respect to verse 113 and 114 of Sūrah al-Tawbah:
- It is not permissible to pray for the forgiveness of a deceased disbeliever for the fact that Allāh has ordained that he/she will never enter Paradise due to the absence of Imān.
- It is permissible to pray for the forgiveness of a living disbeliever with the intention that he/she may be guided towards Imān, thereby becoming worthy and deserving of forgiveness.
