I used an impure towel by mistake!

22 Jan 2024 Ref-No#: 5663

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahamatullahi Wa Barakatuhu. So recently what I did is, I was najis (impure) and I had to do ghusl to become tahir (pure), at that time I just washed the impurity off from myself by water, but I didn’t do the ghusl, and then I dried myself with a towel, so now I was impure as I didn’t do ghusl and as I dried myself with that towel, did it became najis as well. But after few hours I did ghusl and I was in tahir (pure) state again, but I dried myself again with that same towel I used before (when I was najis) without washing the towel. Now I am really confused that if I am in tahir (pure) or najis (impure) state. Please explain me with easy language.
Thank you.
Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahamatullahi Wa Barakatuhu.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Wa ‘alaykum us-salāmu wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Respected brother,
The impurities from which wudu or ghusl is taken is called invisible impurity. Invisible impurity does not travel from the impure person to his clothes or other things.

In your case, the towel is pure and so are you.
