Still married Islamically?
As Salamu3likum,
After being separated from my husband for 8 months we want to try our marriage again.
In the beginning of our separation I requested a divorce he refused it, but I still went back to my father’s home for 8 months.
Since he rejected my request for divorce and we never did the proper process of talaq, are we still married in Islam or must we remarry?

Wa ‘alaykum us-salāmu wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
If no clear or allusive words have been uttered for divorce then mere seperation does not constitute a divorce.
As the matters of divorce are very intricate we would suggest you contact your nearest fatwas centre in person for proper guidance.
