Salam. I’m in great dilemma. We bought a duck from store. It has “Halal” sign. The company is “Sedir foods”. I found the name of CEO is “Adel Janjon” which seems a shia name. So the company may be a shia company. Nevertheless my concern is about slaughter processing. I asked them about slaughter processing. They replied, “Slaughter by machine and according to Islamic conditions and under our supervision”. So I decided not to eat as many scholar forbid to eat machine slaughtered chicken. But later my mother forced me to eat the duck meat and I tried to convinced her, but she is too stuborn, so I became a little bit of angry also, then I said to her, “Wallahi, I won’t eat this”. But at the end I failed, she came to me, took a chunk of the meat and put it into my mouth. So I had to eat. Later when she went to her room I went to the toilet and tried to vomit, but I couldn’t do as much. I think I could vomit out half of the meal. What is the ruling for me now? What can I do now?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Wa ‘alaykum us-salāmu wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Respected brother,

It is a sign of good faith to be extremely cautious with regards to what we eat.

For guidance to halal certified facilities in your area consult reliable scholars and Deen-conscious Muslims of your area.

Do not judge on the basis of doubt only.

Mechanical slaughter is  in accordance with Shar’ia principles IE. any halal animal transported alive on a conveyer belt only and a Muslim slaughterer slaughters it reciting the name of Allah is permissible and the animal halal to eat.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
