Ignoring each other
Assalamu aleikum,
During high school there was a muslim teen that was kind of a jerk to me. After high school i hadn’t seen him for like 4 years. Eventually we passed each other on the street and ignored each other. Same with another guy that was a jerk to me. I ignored him when i saw him again. This all happend years ago.
My question is: do i fall under the people that according the hadith that ignore each other for 3 days? I have already forgiven them and have no idea where they are now.

Dear son,
It saddens deeply to know you had to suffer and pleases to hear that you had forgiven them.
May Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala grant you strength.
Sometimes it is better to detach yourself from people who hurt you. It was your subconscious’s mechanism to protect you.
Now, if you feel you are over that phase and are strong enough to communicate with them then exchange Salam with them as your fellow Muslim brothers.
