Dreams after Tahajjud
Question
Salams All,
I was hoping for some guidance on something that happened to me today.
Long story short, I was speaking with this girl with the intention of marriage and it was going well until she ended it saying she didnt see a future with me for some reason but she did claim that she may regret her decision.
Since then, I have been hurting and I have turned to Allah for help and guidance. Over the past few days, I have either been staying awake or waking up for Tahajjud.
Yesterday, I prayed Tahajjud and I asked Allah to give me a sign either in my daily life or via a dream as to whether this girl is the one for me and if I should wait until she may come back or if there is someone else out there for me who is better. I pleaded with Allah to give me a sign that my Duas are being heard and that I just wanted closure.
I prayed Fajr and went to sleep. That very night I had a dream and the girl was in that dream. I dont recall any conversation between us or any clear signs but she was in that dream. She was in the car with me and my 2 friends and we were just driving around.
I am here to see if anyone can help to guide me as to what kind of message this was or how I should interpret this dream?
Answer
Wa ‘alaykum as-salām wa Raḥmatullāhi wa Barakātuh,
May Allah ease your pain and guide you towards what is best for you. It’s evident that you are earnestly seeking Allah’s guidance through prayer and supplication, which is commendable. Here are some points to consider regarding your situation and dream:
- Reliance on Allah: Continue to place your trust in Allah. Remember that Allah knows what is best for you and will guide you accordingly. Sometimes, what we desire may not be what is best for us, and Allah’s wisdom surpasses our understanding.
- Dream Interpretation: Dreams can have various interpretations, and some may not carry significant messages. The presence of the girl in your dream could reflect your thoughts and emotions, especially since you have been contemplating her and seeking signs. Dreams are not always straightforward in their meanings and can be influenced by our subconscious mind.
- Patience and Trust: Allow yourself time to heal and trust in Allah’s plan. If this girl is meant to be in your life, Allah will facilitate it. If not, trust that Allah has someone better suited for you.
- Action and Reflection: While awaiting guidance, continue engaging in positive actions and self-improvement. Reflect on the qualities you seek in a spouse and what you can offer in a marriage. This period of reflection can be valuable in preparing you for a future relationship, whether with this girl or someone else.
- Consultation: If you remain unsure, consider seeking advice from a knowledgeable and trustworthy Islamic scholar or counselor. They can offer personalized guidance and help you interpret your situation in accordance with Islamic teachings.
- Istikhārah Prayer: Continue to perform the Istikhārah prayer, seeking Allah’s guidance in making decisions. This prayer is specifically for seeking direction in matters where the best choice is unclear.
May Allah grant you clarity, peace, and the best outcome in this situation. Always remember that Allah is with those who are patient and sincerely seek His guidance.
And Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala knows best.
