Nafl namaaz after fajr in Riyadul Jannah
Question
I got the Rawdah permit for 5:30-6:00 am to visit , I prayed fajr salaah with jamaat at 4:45am we then headed to the Riyadul Jannah I performed nafl namaaz and dua / Dhikr then realised it may have been makrooh time to do sajdah after fajr and before ishraq, is there any exception here , will I be sinful?
Answer
Wa’alaykum as-Salām wa raḥmatullāhi wa barakātuhu,
You are correct in noting that performing voluntary prayers after Fajr and before Ishraq is generally considered makrūh (disliked) due to the prohibition during this time. However, if you were unaware of this prohibition at the time, your sincere repentance will be accepted, especially since you were in a sacred place like the Rawḍah al-Jannah.
If a person is fortunate enough to obtain a slot in the Rawḍah al-Jannah during the prohibited times for prayer, they may engage in Dhikr, make Du‘ā, recite the Qurʾān, or perform other similar acts of worship.
In summary, you should not worry excessively about this oversight. Seek forgiveness from Allah and continue your worship and devotion with sincerity. There is no need for additional acts to compensate for this specific oversight. Your worship in the Rawḍah with sincere intention remains valuable.
And Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala knows best.
