Gusl for women after masturbating according to hanafis

Hereunder follows the ruling with additional advice:

1. Obligatory Ghusl for Orgasm Without Fluid Emission:
   • In the Ḥanafī school, if a woman experiences orgasm through masturbation but does not observe any fluid exiting her private parts, ghusl is not obligatory. Ghusl becomes obligatory only when there is a discharge of sexual fluid, typically characterized by its stickiness and white color.
2. Doubt About Fluid Emission:
   • If a woman is uncertain whether any fluid has exited her or not, the Ḥanafī school advises caution. It is recommended that she performs ghusl to ensure purity, especially if she feels certain physiological signs of orgasm, such as the sensation of ejaculation. However, if there is no strong indication or certainty, and she does not see any discharge, then ghusl is not strictly required.

• General Prohibition on Masturbation:
  • Masturbation is generally ḥarām (forbidden) in the Ḥanafī school. It is discouraged because it does not fulfill the higher purposes of sexual relations in Islam, which include procreation and the emotional bond between spouses.
• Seeking Forgiveness:
  • You should implore Allāh to forgive you for masturbating. Allāh is Most Forgiving.
• Encouragement of Marriage:
  • Islam strongly encourages marriage as a lawful means to fulfill sexual desires and to protect oneself from sinful acts. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “O young men, those among you who can support a wife should marry, for it restrains eyes from casting evil glances and preserves one from immorality…” (Bukhārī and Muslim).
• Fasting and Keeping Busy:
  • The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ advised fasting as a means to control sexual desires for those who cannot marry. He said: “Whoever among you can marry, should marry, because it helps him lower his gaze and guard his modesty (i.e., his private parts from committing illegal sexual intercourse etc.), and whoever is not able to marry, should fast, as fasting diminishes his sexual power.” (Bukhārī and Muslim).
• Engaging in Productive Activities:
  • Keeping oneself busy with productive and beneficial activities is also encouraged. This can include pursuing knowledge, engaging in community service, participating in sports, and other hobbies that keep one’s mind and body occupied.
