Taharah & Wudhu

Assalamu alaykum! I performed my obligatory ghusl and 4 -5 hours later I noticed little amount of dried mucus remained in my nostrils.I removed it and washed my nose with water and performed my salah.Was my ghusl valid or should I have repeated my ghusl?

I would like to know the examples of absorbent materials-which may be used for istijmar-and non absorbent materials which musn't be used
