Uncertainty about my wudhu
After wudu I get doubts on wether I forgot to wash a certain ligament or not, does this require renewal of wudu ? Also I follow the hanafi madhab.
Answer
Assalāmuʿalaykum Wa Raḥmatullāhi Wa Barakātuh
The Jurists have stated:
“That in which lies certainty, its status cannot be affected by (a mere) doubt”.
The following rulings are premised on the above:
- If one was certain about being in the state of Wuḍū, and thereafter began doubting the validity of it, then his Wuḍū would remain intact.
- If one was not certain with regards to the validity of his Wuḍū, then he will have to perform Wuḍū again.
