Assalamualaikum brother,

Hope you well In Shaa ALLAH. I am facing some issues. Can you please help me to solve this issue with Islamic thoughts. My question are given below:

1. When i perform salah sometimes i thought my salah can be wrong. So I did 4 sajdah all-time in the last rakah. For example, start with Sana than 2 suras than ruku than sajdah than between sajdah when i sit i say rabbigfirlih than last rakah i said tashahhud, Allahumma salli ‘ala muhammdin wa…. than Allahumma inni jowalamtu nafsi… after that i did 4 sajdah instead of 2. So my Salah is still valid or not? The problem is when i perform salah in home it happens and happening. Please advise me.

2. Currently, i am living in AU. I am doing a Cleaning job in Coles supermarkets. They also have liquorland with supermarkets. I am paid weekly and tax deducted automatically. Before that our cleaning department was seperate from coles but now i think not or i dont know. Is my earning is haram cause many people saying me your coles selling liquor bottle. But coles dont have his own liquorland. Can you please check and let me know cause i am doing this job for 3 years. I am very conscious about it cause i have to tell ALLAH about it.

3. One of my brother doing kitchen hand OR cleaning plates and cleaning other things and helping chefs job in a Pub. I know to earn money with wine and drugs is totally prohibited in Islam. I think his earning is haram. What you say? Now, he cook food in home and tell me to eat his cooked food. If i consume his food is it Okay? or should i stop it?

4. For Fasting, If i could not woke up for eating food during Sehri time, is my fasting valid? I didnt consume anyting and after woke up my intention like i am fasting.

Jazzak ALLAH Khairan brother.

Answer

Wa ʿAlaykum Salām Wa Raḥmatullāhi Wa Barakātuh

1. Your Ṣalāḥ will be valid in this instance. However, if this happens again, then the Ṣalāh will be repeated provided the time of such Ṣalāh has not lapsed.

2. Your earnings are lawful. However, if you are able to secure another job, then that will be better.

3. Your brother’s earnings are lawful. This is because his income is not derived from selling wine, but is rather derived from his cleaning services. In this case, we advise that he should leave this job and secure another job elsewhere since working in such an environment is not befitting of a Muslim.

4. Your fast will be valid provided that you had the intention of fasting from the night before. Therefore, if you had woken up after dawn, then you would automatically be in the state of fasting. Sehri, though being a great Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ, is not a condition for the validity of a fast.
