Question

Is Algal Oil halal to consume?

This oil is being used as a Vegan alternative for omega 3 supplements.

Answer

Assalāmuʿalaykum Wa Raḥmatullāhi Wa Barakātuh

The Jurists have stated:

“The default position of everything is permissibility (unless proven otherwise)”

Based on the above, since there are no factors and elements which contribute to the impermissibility of Algal Oil, it will be permissible for consumption.
