Cheating
Question
Assalamu alaikum,Hello, I cheated an unbeliever, Christian and I can’t find him to pay back the money how can I do, what do I do??
Answer
Wa’alaykum as Salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,
It is impermissible to cheat any person, whether he is a Muslim or a non Muslim.
You should try your best to locate the person, so that you may pay him back.
If, after lots of effort, you are unable to locate him, then you should give the amount away in charity. However, if after paying it in charity, you find the person, you will then have to pay him again.
You should also sincerely repent.
And Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala knows best.
