My mind Keeps convincing me to do kufr and shirk, it won’t go ,Like it tells me to do black magic or tries to tell quranic verses in reverse, I never act upon them, I keep cursing my self, what do I do? Am I sinful, I am afraid to read the Quran…

Answer

Assalāmuʿalaykum Wa Raḥmatullāhi Wa Barakātuh

Though you are not liable for sin, we advise that you refrain from cursing yourself, for if such curses have to be accepted by Allāh ﷻ and subsequently occurs, then your situation would only worsen.

You should not be afraid to recite the Qur’ān.

Allāh ﷻ says:

“In it is a cure for mankind”. [al-Qur’ān 16:69]

According to some scholars and exegetes of the noble Qur’ān, this verse is in respect to the Qur’ān, that it is a cure for all illnesses (physical and spiritual).

By reciting the Qur’ān frequently and in abundance, it is very likely that such thoughts of Kufr and Shirk will soon be weakened and overpowered by your mind and heart.
