Dream: Explosion of the moon and revisiting school

15 Feb 2022 Ref-No#: 1140

So some background I have been making lots of dua to get accepted in to the Islaamic university of Medina since Ramadan (I sent my application in Ramadan).

I have been getting lots of dreams since then (perhaps signs you could say In shaa Allah) and one of them is frequently seeing myself in my old secondary school or a school/college setting in general.

This particular dream, I was with my friend whom I lost contact with but he was a good guy (a Muslim) on my right side and then I saw the full moon. Right in front of me at the centre of the sky, it was very large and dark (maybe a solar eclipse) and it slowly started to change (my friend suggested to take a picture as a memory) and it started to kind of look like it was burning and suddenly exploded.

In the dream, I got up as if it was a normal dream and the dream transitioned in to my secondary school.

Could this be a sign of being accepted in to my desired university? What does the moon mean?

Wa ʿAlaykumus Salām Wa Raḥmatullāhi Wa Barakātuh

We cannot provide an interpretation with certainty as dreams and their realities are from the knowledge of the unseen which rests with Allāh ﷻ alone.

However, through the science of dream interpretations, some indications that pertain to possible outcomes may be applied, notwithstanding the various types of dreams taught to us by the Prophet ﷺ.

In the enquired scenario, it is likely that the dream you have seen regarding your secondary school was from the category of dreams which taps into the subconscious mind, for perhaps you have been thinking about the university for some time throughout the days.

The moon on the other hand could mean any of the following as laid out by the scholars who have specialized in this branch of knowledge:

“If the moon disappears in the skies in a dream, it means that one’s business has come to a halt, or that something he has asked for will not materialize, whether it be good or evil. If the moon reappears in the dream, it means that one will receive what he is seeking, and again, whether it is good or bad for him. Seeing a bright and radiant moon in the skies in a dream means justice and prosperity.”
