Does having only 1 short Khutbah invalide jumuah?
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmitallahi wa barakatu. Does having only 1 short Khutbah mean the Jumuah is invalid? I know the prophet (pbuh) would do 2 khutbahs, but I haven’t been able to find whether or not 1 is sufficient. JazakAllah khair.

Wa’alaykum as Salām wa raḥmatullāhi wa barakātuhu,
It is a great and emphasized Sunnah to have two Khuṭbahs for Jumu’ah. This is the practiced that has been passed on from generation to generation.
However, if due to a valid reason, only one Khuṭbah is delivered, the Jumu’ah will be valid. Kindly refer to al-Mabsūṭ and Badāi’ aṣ-Ṣanā’I for the relevant narration with the explanation.
