Can a man wear a silver ring with “لا إله إلا الله محمد رسول الله” written on it?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
It is permissible but not advised for males to wear silver and silver plated rings with or without
لا إله إلا الله محمد رسول الله
or anything engraved.
1: The weight of silver should be no more than 4.373 grams.
2: Rings with sacred engravings should be given their due respect ie; should not be worn to the lavatory or in the state of ritual impurity.
