Delaying Period for Comsumation
Assalam Alaykum,
Is it allowed to delay period for woman for the purpose of consumation because her wedding day and her period is the same day please advice us wats islam rules on this matter?
Answer
Wa’alaykum as Salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,
Menstruation is a natural cycle which Allah Ta’ala has decreed for every female. Hence, it is best not to interfere with the menstrual cycle. There are many medical harms which come about when trying to alter ones menses.
Thus, whilst it will be permissible for a girl to take a pill to delay her menses, it is not recommended. If there is a possibility of delay the marriage date, then that will be better.
