Bid’ah
Praying Ishraq , awwabin , tahujjud and salatul shukr DAILY and fasting on EVERY monday and thursday in a year bid’ah?
Answer
Assalāmuʿalaykum Wa Raḥmatullāhī W Barakātuh
The performance of the Ishrāq, Awwābīn and Tahajjud Ṣalāḥ are not Bid’ah, but in fact, recognized and recommended daily practices within the Sharīʿah.
The above is also true in respect to Ṣalāh al-Shukr. However, the stipulation of Ṣalāh al-Shukr to be performed on a daily basis is somewhat problematic.
With regard to fasting on Mondays and Thursdays, kindly refer to Fatwaa Ref-No#: 3776.
