Collecting pension from the government

Wa’alaykum as Salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,

Yes, one is allowed to collect pension from the government, as this payment is considered to be a favour from the government to its aged citizens especially those who have contributed taxes to the government over the years.
